Sampling - how does it work?

Join the activities of the German Environmental Specimen Bank on 7 September, when the ESB will be demonstrating samplings and sample treatments.

  • Sampling of soil and treatment by sieving the sampled material and freezing it over liquid nitrogen.
  • Sampling of suspended particulate matter in a sedimentation box.
  • Bream of the river Mulde swim in a big pool; their sampling and treatment are described on posters.

Additional posters will inform about the results of soil analysis and the developments for optimising the sedimention boxes.

Environment 2010: From Knowledge to Decision

The demonstrations will take place during the joint annual meeting of the GDCh-Unit of environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology and the German branch of SETAC Europe in Dessau-Roßlau, 6-9 September 2010.

More results of the Environmental Specimen Bank will be presented during the conference.
