Mobile epiLab on the road for the German Environmental Specimen Bank

Created at May 01, 2013

On May 4 and 5, the mobile epiLab will be in the field to collect human samples for the German Environmental Specimen Bank.

For the first time, all participating students will be surveyed in a mobile epiLab in 2013. The Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT carries out the yearly sampling campaign on behalf of the German Environmental Specimen Bank. The next mission of the epiLab will be on May 4 and 5 in Ulm, Germany.

The mobile laboratory is equipped with all the necessary facilities to perform the standardized sampling. Anamnesis, dental record and blood draw take place in the medical treatment area of the truck. Blood and urine are analyzed in the integrated lab. All samples will be deep frozen already in the vehicle in a cryo storage tank.
