Propiconazole
Fungicide used as biocide, e.g. in wood preservation, and as plant protection product.
Propiconazole is a triazole fungicide with a broad spectrum of activity. It is active ingredient of biocides as well as plant protection products. Propiconazole is, for instance, used as wood preservative and as preservative in adhesives, paints, coatings, leather and textiles. In agriculture propiconazole is applied on agricultural crops, nut and fruit trees and on turf grasses grown for seed, ornament or athletics.
The usage of propiconazole especially in wood preservation and as plant protection product may lead to environmental burdens. In the aquatic environment propiconazole is persistent and toxic to aquatic organisms.
