7-hydroxycitronellal (7-HC) is a fragrance which is often used in cosmetics and hygiene products.

7-HC has contact allergenic properties and thus has to be labeled on the product.

The metabolite of 7-HC, 7-hydroxycitronellylic acid is used for the human biomonitoring analyses.
