Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) is an antioxidant used in a variety of products. Intended uses include products like food, animal feed, cosmetics, packaging materials, pharmaceuticals, polymers and paints.
BHT toxicity is generally considered as being low.
Since BHT is used in many near consumer products population wide exposure is expected.
